bitbake software package provides build system used for embedded Linux distributions, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install bitbake
bitbake is installed in your system.
Make ensure the bitbake package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep bitbake *
You will get with bitbake package name, version, architecture and description in a table
